At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, President Donald Trump’s presence—direct and indirect—has once again dominated conversations among global leaders.

According to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, speaking on America Reports, the reaction from European officials has been a mix of curiosity, concern, and unease, particularly over the former president’s renewed interest in Greenland.

Leavitt described an atmosphere in which Trump’s policies and worldview continue to command attention, even among leaders who may disagree with him.

She noted that European delegates are “getting a little shaken up” by Trump’s willingness to challenge long-standing diplomatic norms and revisit strategic ideas that others once dismissed as unconventional.

Central to that unease is Trump’s expressed desire to acquire Greenland—a resource-rich, strategically located territory that has become increasingly important in discussions about Arctic security, trade routes, and global influence.

While the idea was first raised during Trump’s earlier presidency, its resurfacing has reignited debate in Davos about U.S. intentions and the shifting balance of power in the Arctic region.

Leavitt emphasized that Trump’s approach reflects a broader philosophy: prioritizing American strategic interests and leveraging economic and geopolitical opportunities with little regard for political sensitivities.

From her perspective, this clarity of purpose is precisely why Trump continues to resonate on the world stage.

“Leaders may not always like his style,” she suggested, “but they take him seriously.”

At Davos, where global elites traditionally emphasize multilateral ism and consensus-driven solutions, Trump’s America-first posture stands in sharp contrast.

Yet that contrast, Leavitt argued, is what forces meaningful conversations.

European leaders, she said, are being compelled to reassess assumptions about U.S. policy, NATO dynamics, and future economic alliances.

As the forum continues, one message appears clear: whether admired or criticized, Donald Trump remains a disruptive force in global politics.

His ideas—particularly those that challenge established diplomatic boundaries—are once again shaping discussions at the highest levels, reminding the world that unpredictability itself can be a powerful geopolitical tool.
