The intensifying conflict in the Middle East has taken a dramatic turn after Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had struck and destroyed a key headquarters belonging to Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including facilities linked to the powerful Quds Force.
According to Israeli military statements, the strikes targeted a large command complex in the Iranian capital of Tehran.
The operation reportedly involved waves of advanced fighter jets, including stealth aircraft, striking command bunkers, underground war rooms, and communications centers used by the Quds Force to coordinate operations across the Middle East.
The Quds Force is the IRGC’s elite external operations unit responsible for overseeing Iranian influence and military activities beyond its borders, including coordination with allied groups in countries such as Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.
Analysts say the unit has played a central role in shaping Iran’s regional strategy for decades.
Israeli officials described the strike as one of the most significant operations of the current conflict, claiming it dealt a “strategic knockout” to Iran’s command structure.
Military sources say precision bunker-busting bombs and cruise missiles were used to penetrate hardened facilities, triggering secondary explosions believed to have been caused by stored fuel and ammunition.
The strikes are part of a broader military campaign targeting Iranian military infrastructure.
Israeli forces have recently hit several other IRGC sites in Tehran, including command centers, intelligence facilities, and weapons depots linked to the regime’s security apparatus.
Reports also indicate that additional strikes targeted aircraft and logistical hubs believed to be used by the Quds Force to transfer weapons and funds to allied groups across the region.
The escalating confrontation between Israel and Iran has raised fears that the conflict could widen into a broader regional war involving multiple countries and armed groups.
Military analysts warn that strikes inside Iran’s capital represent a major escalation and could provoke retaliation from Tehran or its allied militias across the region.
So far, Iranian authorities have not fully confirmed the extent of the damage reported by Israeli sources.
However, the continuing exchange of strikes between the two sides has intensified concerns that the crisis could evolve into one of the most dangerous confrontations in the Middle East in decades.
As the conflict continues to unfold, the destruction of facilities tied to the Quds Force—long regarded as one of Iran’s most influential military arms—may significantly alter the strategic balance of the war and shape the next phase of the escalating regional standoff.
