Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s luxury Turnberry estate in Scotland was vandalised overnight, after red paint and graffiti were sprayed across parts of the historic property, prompting a police investigation into what authorities have described as criminal damage.
The incident occurred at the Trump Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire, a world-renowned golf destination owned by the Trump Organization.
According to police, the vandalism targeted multiple exterior areas of the estate, including buildings and prominent entrance features on the grounds.
Images shared locally showed red paint splashed across walls and structures, defacing the otherwise pristine appearance of the resort.
Police Scotland confirmed they are treating the matter seriously and have launched an investigation to identify those responsible.
Officers were alerted in the early hours and are currently reviewing evidence, including potential CCTV footage, as part of their inquiries. No arrests have been announced so far.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said the damage is being classified as criminal vandalism and urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
“Enquiries are ongoing,” the spokesperson noted, adding that officers are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Trump Turnberry, acquired by Donald Trump in 2014, has frequently been the focus of public and political attention due to Trump’s polarising political profile.
While the motive behind the vandalism has not yet been officially determined, the incident comes amid heightened global tensions and renewed political debate surrounding the former U.S. president.
Representatives of the Trump Organization condemned the vandalism, describing it as a reckless act that caused unnecessary damage to a historic property and disrupted operations at the resort.
The estate remains open to guests, though cleanup efforts were reportedly underway shortly after the incident was discovered.
Local leaders and community members have also expressed concern, stressing that while peaceful protest is a democratic right, criminal damage undermines public safety and local businesses.
As investigations continue, authorities are appealing for calm and cooperation, emphasizing that anyone found responsible will face appropriate legal consequences.
