BREAKING:Trump Says Iran Seeks Negotiations After Military Warning as Protest Death Toll Rises.

on

U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that Iran’s leadership is now seeking “to negotiate,” following his recent warning that the United States could intervene militarily if Iranian authorities continued killing protesters amid nationwide unrest.

Trump’s remarks come as human rights groups report sharply rising death tolls from Iran’s ongoing anti-regime protests, which have spread across multiple cities and entered a particularly violent phase.

The demonstrations, driven by economic hardship, political repression, and public anger toward the ruling clerical establishment, have been met with an aggressive security response.

According to Iran Human Rights, at least 192 protesters have been killed since the unrest began. Meanwhile, the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reports a significantly higher figure, estimating 544 deaths in total, including 48 members of Iran’s security forces.

The discrepancy highlights the difficulty of verifying information amid internet restrictions, media crackdowns, and government secrecy inside Iran.

President Trump suggested that his warning of potential U.S. military action marked a turning point, claiming Iran’s leadership is now looking for a way to de-escalate.

While he did not provide details on the nature or scope of the alleged outreach, his comments signal a belief that increased pressure—both rhetorical and strategic—is having an impact.

The Iranian government has not publicly confirmed any move toward negotiations and continues to describe the protests as foreign-instigated unrest.

Authorities have defended their response as necessary to maintain order, while simultaneously limiting access to information and detaining activists, journalists, and demonstrators.

International reaction remains divided. Some leaders and human rights organizations have condemned Tehran’s crackdown and called for accountability, while others have urged restraint and warned that military threats could further destabilize the region.

Analysts caution that any U.S. intervention, even if limited, could escalate into a broader conflict given Iran’s regional influence and network of allied militias.

Trump has repeatedly emphasized that he supports the Iranian people’s right to protest and has framed his stance as a warning against mass civilian casualties.

His statement that Iran is now seeking negotiations suggests a possible shift toward diplomacy—though it remains unclear whether formal talks will materialize or what conditions might be attached.

As protests continue and casualty figures rise, the situation inside Iran remains volatile.

Whether Trump’s warning leads to meaningful negotiations or further confrontation may depend on how Iran’s leadership responds in the coming days, as both domestic pressure and international scrutiny intensify.
