Jennifer Lopez shocks with unexpected announcement after hosting the American Music Awards 2025: Surprise!…
Jennifer Lopez is heading back to the Las Vegas Strip for a more personal mission. After hosting the 2025 American Music Awards, the global superstar unveiled plans for her second Las Vegas residency. The “Let’s Get Loud” singer announced she’ll return to the stage for Up All Night Live, a 12-date concert series at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, set to begin on December 30. “Surprise JLovers!” Lopez wrote to her 386.4 million social media followers. “We’re back!”
Presale tickets for the residency open June 2, with general public sales beginning June 6. For Lopez, the return to Vegas represents a revival of both her performing career and her relationship with fans after a difficult year. Her previous residency, All I Have, held at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater, was a massive success. Running from 2016 to 2018, the 121-show spectacle grossed a reported $101.9 million. But her recent experiences have been a reminder that even the most seasoned entertainers need to pause.
Lopez opts for stability close to home
The On the Floor hitmaker’s Vegas return comes almost exactly a year after she unexpectedly canceled her 30-date This Is Me…Live: The Greatest Hits tour. The announcement, shared via her On the JLo newsletter, cited personal priorities. “She was completely heartsick and devastated,” the newsletter explained. Lopez said she was “taking time off to be with her children, family, and close friends.”
The tour cancellation followed backlash tied to her expansive self-financed This Is Me…Now creative project-a sprawling endeavor that included an album, a film, and a behind-the-scenes documentary. Many critics questioned its viability and scope, and the underperformance of the project added pressure on Lopez’s career momentum. Now, Jennifer Lopez appears to be rethinking her strategy, telling Variety that her residency choice was deliberate.
JLO IN BIKINI
“I like being close to home. It’s convenient for me in that way instead of touring the whole world,” she said. “I canceled my tour last year, so I’ve been thinking a lot about performing and how I wanted to get back out there. I’m doing a small tour in the summer because I haven’t gone international and then it was like, ‘Do you want to go on tour or do you want to do a residency?’ And I was like, ‘You know what? I think I’ll just do a residency.’”
