While the post appeared innocuous on the surface, its timing drew sharp criticism online, as Gomez’s high-profile wedding was taking place the same day in Santa Barbara, less than 100 miles away.

Fans were quick to interpret the use of “I Do” as a pointed gesture, given the coinciding nuptials of his former partner.

“You lost her, get over her,” one commenter wrote.

Others mocked the choice of song with remarks like, “Benny: I do! Justin: I do too,” and, “Posting a wedding song on basketball pics… this man is crying through captions.”

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber dated on and off for several years before permanently parting ways in 2018. She confirmed her relationship with Blanco in late 2023.
