Eve’s life changed forever in 2010.
That year, the rapper, 45, met her husband, British businessman Maximillion Cooper, 52, at his celebrity motor rally, the Gumball 3000. Their connection was instant and intense, and despite living continents apart — Eve was living in the U.S., and Cooper was living in London with his four kids from his previous marriage — they made long-distance work.
In June 2014, the two got married, and Eve relocated to London full-time.
“It was a big move,” Eve tells PEOPLE. “Culturally, things are very different. It took about two years for me to feel settled here.”
She also had to adapt to her new role as a stepmom to Cooper’s kids, Lotus, 22, Jagger, 20, Cash, 18, and Mini, 16.
“Dropping them off, picking them up from school, it took adjusting,” she says. “But I fell in love with them as well. Max is such a good dad that it helped me be like, ‘Okay, I can see me doing this. I can see me being here
