Nie dopisała frekwencja na pierwszym meczu Igi Świątek w US Open. Polka rozegrała mecz na korcie centralnym nowojorskiego turnieju, na którym wiele miejsc pozostało wolnych do końca spotkania.
Iga Świątek (1. WTA) ma za sobą pierwszy mecz w tegorocznym US Open. Obrończyni tytułu sprzed roku w zaledwie 58 minut odprawiła Rebeccę Peterson (86. WTA) 6:0, 6:1. “Cieszy wysoka forma naszej tenisistki od początku turnieju w Nowym Jorku. Poza jednym trudniejszym momentem na początku drugiej partii Iga Świątek kontrolowała przebieg spotkania. Szybko zaadaptowała się do warunków panujących na US Open: kortów, piłek i pogody” – pisał po tym spotkaniu Dominik Senkowski ze Sport.pl.
