The tennis G.O.A.T. does not mess around
Play Iconpreview for Venus and Serena Williams on Their Own Terms
Serena Williams recently shared a clip on Instagram showing herself getting her workout in… with her new baby’s front pack strapped to her chest. You know, just in case she has to slip back in to mom mode when her baby cries.
In the instagram video, Serena, 42, is absolutely crushing a workout on a Pilates Reformer, doing moves that targeted her thighs.
“LISTEN- I stay on ready set in case I have to RUN 🏃🏿♀️ and grab baby @adiraohanian …. But until than- burn inner thighs BURN 🔥,” she captioned the video.
Fans absolutely *loved* this honest mom moment, and applauded Serena for her dedication to both her workout and her child care. “We feel the burn 😅 You look amazing mama 🔥,” commented one follower. Another added, “Wowwww🔥.”
ICYMI, the tennis champion and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, now have two little girls—6-year-old Olympia and 5-month-old Adria, who was born in August. But, of course, that doesn’t stop Serena from making sure she stays super strong. After all, carrying around two squirming kids takes serious strength.
Serena is all about the home workouts. She even shared one of her and her sister Venus doing a yoga-based workout during the lockdown in 2020.
While Serena’s goals have certainly shifted now that she’s not competing in tennis (for now!), she shared a breakdown of her usual workout in her MasterClass, and it’s definitely intense, with or without a baby strapped to your chest.
Serena says her goal in training was to increase her cardio to the point where she could play tennis for four hours or more.
“I’ve never in my life played a match for four hours or more,” she said. “And I figure if I can last that long in a match, then I’ll be able to last any time, period.”
