TRUMP COMPARES HIMSELF TO LINCOLN AND JFK AFTER LATEST SECURITY SCARE
Donald Trump on Monday likened himself to Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy while reflecting on repeated threats against his life.
Speaking at an Angel Families event, Trump described himself as a “consequential president,” arguing that historically, only impactful leaders face assassination attempts.
His remarks came a day after U.S. Secret Service agents shot and neutralized an armed man attempting to enter his Mar-a-Lago property in Florida.
Trump was not at the club at the time, as he was in Washington hosting a governors’ dinner at the White House.
The incident is now under investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with no motive publicly disclosed.
It follows two previous assassination attempts in 2024 — one at a Pennsylvania rally where a bullet grazed Trump’s ear, and another in Palm Beach when a suspect allegedly aimed a rifle toward him while he was golfing.
In his remarks, Trump suggested that such threats are evidence of his political significance, saying,
“They only go after consequential presidents,” before adding that perhaps he should be “a little bit less consequential.”
