Breaking News:Trump DOJ Drops Hammer on Detroit: Demands 865,000 Ballots to Expose Potential Fraud. See what happens next
The Trump Justice Department is taking direct aim at election integrity in one of America’s most notorious hotspots for voting irregularities.
Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon fired off a letter on April 14 demanding roughly 865,000 ballots—including mail-ins—from Wayne County, Michigan (home to Detroit), along with all related envelopes and receipts from the 2024 presidential election.
The request cites Wayne County’s long history of fraud convictions and serious allegations of improper procedures. Dhillon made it clear: hand over the records within 14 days or face a court order.
This is no fishing expedition. It’s a straightforward push to verify that federal election laws were actually followed in a blue stronghold where trust has been shattered for years.
Democrats are predictably melting down. Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson slammed the move as “absurd” and “baseless,” vowing to fight it tooth and nail.
Their outrage says it all—transparency is only a problem when there’s something to hide.
Harmeet Dhillon is doing what needs to be done: shining a bright light on processes that have fueled skepticism since at least 2020.
Wayne County isn’t some random jurisdiction; it’s ground zero for repeated questions about ballot handling, late-night counting, and unsecured drop boxes.
The same scrutiny should extend to other suspicious battlegrounds like Wisconsin. Real election security demands real audits—not blind trust in the same officials who keep stonewalling.
Fraud must never be swept under the rug. Americans deserve to know every vote was legitimate. If Democrats have nothing to hide, they should welcome the review instead of obstructing it.
This is how you restore faith in the system: enforce the law without apology.
