Prince William Describes 2024 as the Most Challenging Year of His Life
London (AP) —
Prince William has reflected on the personal challenges he faced in 2024, describing it as the most difficult year of his life.
In a preview of an upcoming episode of The Reluctant Traveler, hosted by actor Eugene Levy, the Prince of Wales opened up about the emotional toll of last year, during which both his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and his father, King Charles III, underwent treatment for cancer.
“I’d say 2024 was the hardest year I’ve ever had,” Prince William told Levy. “Life is said to test us as well, and being able to overcome that is what makes us who we are.”
The episode, scheduled to air on October 3 via Apple TV+, features Prince William guiding Levy through Windsor Castle and the two sharing a drink at a traditional British pub.
Both King Charles and Princess Catherine have since resumed public duties. The Princess of Wales confirmed in January that her cancer is in remission and has since participated in numerous official engagements. Earlier this month, she and Prince William played prominent roles in welcoming former U.S. President Donald Trump during his state visit to the United Kingdom.
King Charles also returned to public engagements after stepping back in 2024 to focus on his treatment and recovery. Neither he nor the Princess has disclosed the specific type of cancer they were diagnosed with.
