Brandon Blackstock, Former Manager and Ex-Husband of Kelly Clarkson, Dies at 48
Brandon Blackstock, former music manager and ex-husband of Grammy Award-winning artist Kelly Clarkson, has passed away at the age of 48 following a prolonged battle with cancer.
His passing was confirmed by a family representative in a statement to People:
> “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away. Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”
The news of Blackstock’s death comes shortly after Clarkson announced the postponement of her remaining Las Vegas residency dates, citing his declining health and the importance of being with their children—River Rose, 11, and Remington Alexander, 9.
Clarkson addressed the decision publicly, stating, “This past year, my children’s father has been ill.”
Blackstock and Clarkson married in 2013 and finalized their divorce in early 2022 after separating in 2020. In addition to being her former spouse, Blackstock was also a key figure in Clarkson’s professional life, having served as her manager during several critical years of her career.
