Senior Female Members of the British Royal Family Attend State Banquet at Windsor Castle

Four senior working female members of the British Royal Family—Her Majesty Queen Camilla, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal (Princess Anne), Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales (Catherine), and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester (Birgitte)—were seen en route to St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle to attend a formal state banquet.

On this occasion, Queen Camilla, The Princess Royal, and The Duchess of Gloucester were adorned with the blue sash of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, the United Kingdom’s highest order of chivalry. The Princess of Wales wore the sash of the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, a distinction personally awarded by the Sovereign for services to the Royal Family.

The event took place within the historic setting of Windsor Castle, one of the oldest continuously inhabited castles in the world. Originally constructed by William the Conqueror following the Norman Conquest of 1066, Windsor Castle has remained a key royal residence and ceremonial venue for nearly a millennium.

Notably absent from the banquet were Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, who were en route to Japan to undertake an official working visit on behalf of the Crown.
