BRAKING NEWS:Senator Ed Markey Urges 25th Amendment Action Against Trump, White House Pushes Back.

Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey has sparked fresh political debate after publicly calling for the invocation of the 25th Amendment to remove President Donald Trump from office, citing concerns over what he described as troubling and potentially dangerous remarks by the president.

Markey’s call follows reports that Trump linked discussions about Greenland, NATO ally Norway, and the Nobel Peace Prize in a way that raised alarms among critics.

According to those reports, Trump suggested that not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize freed him from focusing exclusively on peace, allowing him to pursue U.S. interests more aggressively.

Markey argued that such statements reflect poor judgment and raise serious questions about the president’s fitness to lead, particularly on matters involving national security and international alliances.

Taking to social media, the senator shared a news report highlighting the comments and urged decisive action, stating that the situation demands accountability to protect the country’s stability and global standing.

“These remarks are not just reckless,” Markey suggested, “they signal a mindset that could endanger U.S. interests and international security.”

The White House swiftly dismissed Markey’s call, labeling it “political theater” and accusing critics of exploiting controversial comments for partisan gain.

Administration officials maintained that the president remains fully capable of carrying out his duties and that the claims do not meet the constitutional threshold required for removal.

Legal and constitutional experts, meanwhile, note that invoking the 25th Amendment is an extremely high bar.

The process would require the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet to declare the president unfit, followed by substantial support in Congress—conditions widely viewed as unlikely in the current political climate.

While the prospect of removal remains remote, Markey’s statement underscores the deep political divisions in Washington and highlights how presidential rhetoric continues to fuel intense debate over leadership, accountability, and national security in the United States.
