Breaking News: Nigerians in Venezuela Protest Arrest of President Nicolás Maduro, Demand Immediate Release

In a dramatic turn of events that has drawn international attention, Nigerians residing in Venezuela have taken to the streets to protest the reported arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by forces allegedly acting under the authority of former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The demonstrators are calling for Maduro’s immediate release, condemning what they describe as an unlawful and provocative action that undermines Venezuela’s sovereignty and international law.

The protest, which unfolded in parts of Caracas and other major cities, saw members of the Nigerian diaspora holding placards, chanting solidarity slogans, and appealing to the global community to intervene.

Many protesters described the alleged arrest as a violation of diplomatic norms and an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign nation.

Speaking during the demonstration, several Nigerian community leaders in Venezuela emphasized their concern about the broader implications of such an action.

They warned that any foreign-backed arrest of a sitting president could set a dangerous precedent, escalating global tensions and threatening peace, particularly in politically sensitive regions.

“Our message is clear,” one protest organizer stated.

“No country has the right to invade another nation’s sovereignty or abduct its elected leader.

We stand with the people of Venezuela and demand the immediate release of President Nicolás Maduro.”

Protesters also called on international bodies such as the United Nations, the African Union, and regional organizations in Latin America to urgently investigate the situation and ensure that due process, diplomacy, and international law are upheld.

The demonstration remained largely peaceful, though heavily charged with emotion, as participants waved both Nigerian and Venezuelan flags to symbolize unity between the two peoples.

Many expressed fears that continued foreign intervention could destabilize Venezuela further and negatively impact immigrants and foreign nationals living in the country.

As of the time of this report, there has been no official confirmation from U.S. or Venezuelan authorities regarding the alleged arrest. However, the protest highlights growing global sensitivity around issues of sovereignty, foreign intervention, and the treatment of national leaders.

The world now watches closely as calls for clarification, accountability, and restraint continue to mount.
