Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clintons have agreed to testify in a congressional investigation examining the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, following earlier refusals to participate, according to lawmakers overseeing the probe.

The development marks a significant turn in the House investigation, which is seeking to clarify the scope of Epstein’s network, his access to powerful figures, and any potential failures by institutions that allowed his crimes to continue for years.

The Clintons’ agreement to testify could bring high-profile scrutiny to the proceedings and intensify public interest in the case.

However, House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer said the terms under which the Clintons have agreed to testify remain unclear.

In a statement, Comer noted that the conditions “lack clarity,” raising questions about the format, timing, and limits of the testimony, including whether it would be conducted publicly or behind closed doors.

Investigators are expected to push for clearer terms to ensure the testimony provides substantive answers rather than narrowly defined statements.

Lawmakers from both parties have emphasized that the goal of the inquiry is accountability and transparency, not political theater.

The Epstein case has continued to reverberate years after his death in federal custody, with renewed attention on how influential individuals and systemic failures may have enabled his criminal activities.

Congressional investigators argue that testimony from high-profile figures could help establish a fuller picture of Epstein’s relationships and the broader environment that allowed him to evade justice for so long.

As negotiations continue over the terms of the Clinton’s testimony, committee leaders say they will press forward with additional witnesses and document requests, signaling that the investigation is far from over—and that more revelations may still lie ahead.
